Artificial Neural Network For SEO Authority

In the past, authority link building was a broken concept. It involved a lot of manual labor. It had a high degree of uncertainty: who is willing to pass authority? Is it the right authority? We have changed this fundamentally.

Below we explain in detail how our technology works and how we build it in 12 months.

SEO Authority = Brain

SEO authority is a neural network. It resembles a biological network like our brains.

When someone asks you: what is the best restaurant in town? Your brain is starting to search for stored information: past memories, experiences.

Besides this, it accesses knowledge you acquired about the subject. Articles you read, videos you watched or conversations you had about the subject.

In a few seconds, you process the question and come up with your best answer. You might recommend a certain restaurant because you recently dined there. Or you have read about it in an authority publication.

It depends which internal weight you give to all possible answers. After two weeks, you meet the person again.

You ask her about the experience and you get the feedback that it was a great night out with good food. You process this information and change your answer next time.

This is called neuroplacicity. And, this is how search engines work.

Search engines rely on information about your website. So they can decide to give it more or less weight in the search results for a certain search term.

Know The True Authority

We can divide the mentioned above factors into three main categories: the content itself, how the content is presented and who acknowledges it.

If you are familiar with SEO so far no news. What sets us apart in terms of authority? We are able to calculate the weight of the authority by knowing the true authority of a publication. How?

In building authority the normal procedure would be as follows: You find publishers, contact them, pitch them an article idea. Then you write content for them and publish an article containing  a backlink to your own website. This sounds already tiring but the reality is that the process involves even more steps. And we did not mention initial response rates yet. Those are utterly low.

And you need to judge the publications first. So how do you know this publication you will dedicate a day of work to is the best publisher for your website and the corresponding search term? You do not know. You make a (hopefully an educated) guess. There are a few companies like ahref.com, majestic Moz and SEMrush who attempted to calculate the authority of a website. They invented their own metrics. Those are used by SEO folks to estimate if a publication is suitable to pass authority.

Introducing ODIN: ANN SEO Authority

Our ANN is based on a collection of connected units or nodes. Those are the publications (or neurons). Our active network contains at this moment more than 100.000 publications.

Behind this network is a layer which is invisible to most people. The publications linking to our active layer. And behind those are again other publications who are linking to those.

Getting back to our example of the best restaurant. You give a recommendation for a restaurant because a friend has recently told you about it. You just never asked in detail why this friend recommends it. You just trust the information because it is one of your best friends and his recommendations are spot on. He recommended it because he is relying on his personal experience.

You do not have access to it. With SEO authority you might have access to it but it is impossible to investigate for every publication you are considering. And link builders did not have this plasticity in the past but we do have it now.

It works very like the biological brain. Each publication (sometimes even without a backlink) is connected to your website. One condition: as long as you have one backlink from a high-authority site with more than 1.000 incoming links itself.

The backlinks are like the synapses in a biological brain. They transmit a signal to other publications.

An publication receives and passes signals. Search engines analyse the signals to determine what this connection is all about. And, decide to show this connection on certain search result pages.

SEO Authority On Steriods

Signals of neurons with a connection (by linking) to others tend to pass on authority. This “signal” at a connection is a real number. And the output strength of each publication is computed by some non-linear function. The sum of its inputs and the sum of all outputs. We call those connections or backlinks edges. Neurons and their edges have a weight that adjusts as the number of incoming and outgoing edges and structures change. The weight increases or decreases the strength of the signal at a connection. Behind the direct connection is a huge amount (ever growing but finite amount) of layers which are passing authority and create a super-edge. Our neural network evaluates the best possible connections from high authority publications to your website. The network gets feedback as soon as your website moves in rankings based on the timing of the publication placement.

This way we are able to train the network to find just the right publications for your SEO success. We have aggregated the publications into an infinite amount of layers. Different layers may perform different transformations on their inputs. Signals travel from the first layer (the input layer), to the last layer (the output layer), possibly after traversing the layers multiple times. By exactly knowing the connections of the publisher network itself we are able to create the best edges for your website. The layers behind a direct connection from a publication to your website is the competitive advantage of our neural network. Normal authority link building companies offer you a list of websites where you can build authority from. We offer you the edges by knowing the true authority behind a backlink from a publication.
